A deck should feel like a natural part of the house

A good deck is about more than laying boards. Level differences, the ground beneath, the join to the house, stairs, railings and how the space will actually be used all have to work together.

Aldas builds both smaller patios and larger multi-level terraces with stairs, railings and bespoke details. Every project is adapted to the house, the plot and how the client wants to use the space.

Whether you want a new place for dinners and relaxing, an extension to an existing deck or a replacement for an older structure, the goal is the same: a solid, well-made result that looks good and works day to day.

The details decide the result

A good-looking deck starts with a considered, stable structure. But it is usually the details that make the finished result feel complete. Joins, corners, steps, railings and edge finishes have to work technically and suit the house.

With solid experience in construction and carpentry, Aldas finds solutions even where the plot slopes, the house has level differences, or the client wants something more personal than a standard solution. Care shows – both when the work is finished and after several years of use.

Decks for different houses and plots

Every plot is different. Rock, slopes, level differences and existing buildings can make a deck build more demanding – but they also open up the chance for a more considered, personal solution.

Aldas has experience of decks on waterside plots, on sloping ground, against rock and around houses where different levels need to be tied together with stairs or terraces. Every project is judged on the conditions of the site and the client’s wishes.

Behind the finished result

Good workmanship starts under the boards

The finished deck is what the client sees. The structure underneath is what decides how stable and durable it will be. Joists, load-bearing parts, fixings and levels all have to be planned and built carefully before the last board goes down.

Aldas puts real weight on the work that is not visible once the project is done. These photos show real projects during the build itself – not just the finished result.

An outdoor space you actually use

A well-built deck can change how the house is used through spring, summer and early autumn. It becomes the place for morning coffee, dinners with family and friends, or just a few quiet hours outdoors.

So the goal is not just to build a terrace. The goal is an outdoor space that feels like a natural part of the home.
